The Winnipeg Blue Bombers got their revenge Saturday in the annual Banjo Bowl with a 48-28 victory over the rival Saskatchewan Roughriders, after losing the Labour Day Classic last week by a score of 38-24.

Roughriders quarterback Kevin Glenn was intercepted twice, with one being returned for a Bombers' touchdown. He finished his day going 15-for-22 through the air for 327 yards, with two touchdowns and two interceptions.

Glenn was replaced by quarterback Brandon Bridge after suffering an injury late in the third quarter. Bridge went just 4-for-8 for 67 yards with an interception of his own, but he did have a 10-yard touchdown run late in the third quarter to make it a 10-point game at the time.

Quarterback Matt Nichols was stellar for the Bombers, going 24-for-37 for 282 yards and three scores without a single pick thrown the other way. Clarence Denmark was the beneficiary of two of those TD passes from Nichols.

Bombers linebacker Maurice Leggett scored a touchdown on one of the Glenn interceptions, after earlier returning a punt 97 yards for his first score of the game.

The Bombers stay locked in second place in the West Division at 8-3, while the Riders fell to 5-5 and remain in fifth place in the division.

The Bombers will await the result of Saturday night's game between the Edmonton Eskimos and the Calgary Stampeders to see if they'll be alone in second place or go back into a tie.
