Ticats drop to 0-7 after 27-point thrashing vs. Blue Bombers

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats are now 0-7 on the season after the Winnipeg Blue Bombers hammered the winless club 39-12 on Saturday night at Tim Hortons Field.

Andrew Harris ran wild for the Bombers, racking up 107 yards on just 14 carries, while Matt Nichols completed 71 percent of his passes for 267 yards and two touchdowns in the win. Winnipeg compiled more than 400 yards of offense on Hamilton's defense, adding to the woes of the league's worst unit.

Justin Medlock was once again a major player in the Bombers' game plan, kicking six field goals on the night, including a boomer from 57 yards.

Zach Collaros couldn't get anything going on offense for the East cellar-dwellers, finishing with just 215 yards passing, and the running game was a nonfactor. The Ticats combined for a laughable 20 yards on the ground for the entire game,

Winnipeg improved to 5-2 with the win and moved up the West standings into a tie with the BC Lions at 10 points. Hamilton is now 0-7 on the season, and 2017 continues to be a year to forget for the East division.

The hapless side of the CFL standings now has seven wins combined for the Montreal Alouettes, Toronto Argonauts, Ottawa RedBlacks, and Tiger-Cats, with not one team holding a winning record.
