Lulay stars in relief of Jennings as Lions trounce Tiger-Cats
No Jonathon Jennings, no problem for the BC Lions.
After Jennings was lost to a shoulder injury on the Lions' first play against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Saturday night, quarterback Travis Lulay came to the rescue off the bench to lead BC to a convincing 41-26 victory.
Lulay threw for 436 yards and three touchdowns in relief, breaking a record in the process.
Lions receiver Nick Moore immediately clicked with Lulay, posting 10 receptions for 220 yards and a touchdown. Fellow BC wideout Bryan Burnham also hauled in a highlight worthy one-handed touchdown grab.
The loss drops Hamilton to 0-3 on the season, as the Tiger-Cats have now given up 110 points in three games.
Ticats quarterback Zach Collaros threw for 361 yards in a losing cause.
Hamilton will look for its first win of the season against the Edmonton Eskimos next Thursday, while BC will meet the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Friday.
