In a back-and-forth game, special teams turned out to be the difference.

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers defeated the Toronto Argonauts 33-25 to claim their second victory of the season, after starting off with a bang when Ryan Lankford returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown.

Special teams ruled the day in this one, as Argos return man Martese Jackson would return a punt for a score in the first quarter, but had a kickoff return called back for a block in the back in the second.

That penalty was costly for Toronto and a fan, who saw her chances at a million dollars disappear. Karen Kuldys had a chance for $1 million if two kickoff return touchdowns were scored in the same game, but the questionable call ruined that opportunity.

Bombers running back Andrew Harris had a solid night on the ground, running for 81 yards and a pair of scores.

Neither quarterback was productive through the air, as Ricky Ray and Matt Nichols both failed to find the end zone. The Argos pivot was also picked off twice.

Toronto will try and get back in the win column on July 24 against the Ottawa RedBlacks, while Winnipeg meets the BC Lions on July 21.
