Questionable call in Argos-Blue Bombers game costs woman $1M
There are costly penalties, and then there's this.
A block in the back penalty during a Toronto Argonauts kickoff return negated a touchdown that would have netted Karen Kuldys $1 million. Safeway's Touchdown to Win contest stipulates a contestant will win $1 million if two kickoff return touchdowns are scored in the same game, according to Drew Edwards of 3 Down Nation. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers had already scored one on a kickoff return earlier in the contest.
Here's the call in question, where Argos receiver Llevi Noel barely touches Bombers fullback Mike Miller with his right hand and Miller goes to the ground. Toronto's return man was also well ahead of the pack.
Understandably, Karen was not pleased.
Fans are showing their support on social media with the hashtag #whataboutkaren, but Karen ran out of luck as there were no more kickoff returns for touchdowns in the contest.
