A Ray of Green: Ricky, S.J. propel Argos past RedBlacks

S.J. Green can still get it done, just ask the Ottawa RedBlacks.

The 11-year veteran made the defending Grey Cup champions look silly Saturday evening, going off for 10 receptions, a career-high 210 yards, and one touchdown, leading the Toronto Argonauts to a 26-25 victory in the nation's capital.

Green, who was acquired from the Montreal Alouettes in an offseason trade, now has now gone over 100 yards receiving in two of his three games for the Double Blue. He appeared in just two contests last year due to a torn ACL.

Green's banner night was nearly spoiled by a fourth-quarter comeback from Ottawa, but Brett Maher missed an extra point that would've tied the game midway through the frame. Maher also missed a 59-yard field goal on the last play of the game that would've won it. The Argos ran the final kick out of the end zone before taking a knee to seal the result.

In the win, Argos quarterback Ricky Ray recorded his 300th career touchdown pass, becoming just the sixth player in league history to reach the milestone. Ray ended the contest with 366 yards and two scores, and didn't turn the ball over.

The Argos moved to a record of 2-1 with the victory.

The RedBlacks, meanwhile, have now dropped two straight decisions, and are still searching for their first win of the year after settling for a draw in the season-opener.
