The Toronto Argonauts showed the Hamilton Tiger-Cats exactly whose yard they were playing in Sunday afternoon, as Ricky Ray led the Argos to a convincing 32-15 victory.

With age continuing to be a growing factor for Ray, the 37-year-old pivot turned back the clock to open the season by victimizing the Ticats' defense for 506 yards through the air. Ray's only touchdown pass came on the opening play of the second half - a 79-yard reception by DeVier Posey to give the Argonauts a 21-12 lead.

Tiger-Cats quarterback Zach Collaros did not fare nearly as well, passing for just 261 yards and one interception.

Both teams left their running games at home, as the Argonauts ran for just 33 yards and the Ticats only 16. That played into Ray's hand, as Posey, S.J. Green, and Jeff Fuller each recorded over 100 receiving yards on the day.

One particular standout for the Ticats was former Baltimore Ravens defensive back Will Hill. In his first career CFL game, the 27-year-old blocked two field-goal attempts from Argos kicker Lirim Hajrullahu, the second of which was returned 84 yards for a touchdown by defensive back Richard Leonard.

With the first week of the CFL season officially in the books, the Argonauts will look ahead to Week 2 when they welcome the BC Lions to BMO Field.

The Ticats will use their bye week to recover from Sunday's loss, and will seek their first win when they travel to Regina to take on the Saskatchewan Roughriders on July 8.
