Schweinsteiger doubtful vs. Everton due to thigh injury
Manchester United might have to prepare for its next Premier League match for life without Bastian Schweinsteiger after the midfielder sustained a thigh injury.
The club confirmed that Schweinsteiger - who experienced the injury ahead of Germany's loss to the Republic of Ireland on Thursday - is doubtful to be available when United visits Goodison Park to play Everton.
United, however, wasn't willing to rule the midfielder out of the fixture as Germany coach Joachim Low waits to see how Schweinsteiger's body responds to the injury.
"For Schweinsteiger I will need to see," he told reporters, courtesy of United's website. "The medical staff said two or three days' rest."
The fact Low has yet to be exclude him from participating in Sunday's game against Georgia is somewhat promising, but Germany and United will have to see if it's something Schweinsteiger can shake off or if the ailment requires a long stint on the sidelines.
