VIDEO: Kevin Volland scores after 9 seconds vs. Bayern Munich, equals Bundesliga record
Bayern Munich had a match on Saturday against Hoffenheim. Bayern Munich's players were aware of said match, and 11 of them were on the pitch when the official blew the whistle to begin the contest.
Only, you see, Bayern Munich apparently wasn't aware that the game had started, judging by the opening nine-second sequence.
An errant pass from David Alaba allowed Hoffenheim striker Kevin Volland to pounce, with the German capitalizing on the error and finding the back of the net before the clock had even reached 10 seconds.
There was initial thought that the goal took only eight seconds, which would have set a Bundesliga record, but the league was quick to inform everyone of the timing on the tally.
The goal equals the record set just last season by Bayer Leverkusen's Karim Bellarabi, who scored right from the opening kick-off in his club's opening match of the 2014-15 campaign against Borussia Dortmund.
