Josip Drmic agrees to deal with Borussia Monchengladbach until 2019
Another Swiss player arrived at Borussia-Park on Wednesday, as Borussia Monchengladbach announced the signing of forward Josip Drmic on a four-year deal from Bayer 04 Leverkusen.
Drmic, 22, notched six goals and one assist through 25 Bundesliga appearances, 20 of which were as a substitute.
"There are a couple of reasons but I don't really want to go into them," said Drmic upon being asked what made him decide to move. "I'm really happy that the transfer has gone to plan and that all of the concerned parties are happy. There's no point in looking back - I'm now looking forward to a successful future with Borussia."
At Monchengladbach, Drmic will join Swiss compatriots Yann Sommer and Granit Xhaka, who he claims he spoke to ahead of the move.
"I've become friends with them as a result of our involvement with the national team," Drmic said. "Talking to people in the know is a normal process ahead of making a transfer. Obviously, I hope that I make further friends at the club."
The 2014-15 Bundesliga season saw Drmic find the back of the net with more efficiency than any other player at Leverkusen.
