As Borussia Dortmund demonstrated Saturday, the death of Leonard Nimoy extends well beyond the science fiction community, and even touches the distant reaches of the footballing world.
Nimoy - known primarily for his role as Spock in various "Star Trek" iterations - passed away Friday at the age of 83, and Dortmund paid tribute to his legacy by unveiling a message that read "Celebrate! Long and prosper" following their 3-0 win over Schalke in the Revierderby.
Of course, the message should probably read "Live long and prosper," but it's the thought that counts. Right?
