Schalke's Julian Draxler to undergo surgery on injured thigh
The diagnosis on Julian Draxler's injured thigh has confirmed the fears of Schalke and the German national team.
Germany's team doctor, Hans-Wilhelm Müller Wohlfahrt, discovered a partial tear in Draxler's hamstring and the injury will require surgery. Draxler will be out for the remainder of the calendar year, the national team's website reports.
The 21-year-old will have the operation and receive treatment in Stuttgart when an appointment with a capable doctor is scheduled
Draxler injured the tendon during Friday's Bundesliga fixture and was forced to come off after just four minutes.
