Bayern Munich steamrolled Barcelona in the first half of their Champions League quarterfinal tilt on Friday, scoring four goals in the opening 31 minutes to eventually take a commanding 4-1 lead into the halftime interval.
But it could have been more.
After a whirlwind start at both ends - with Barca crafting a few clear-cut chances of their own - Bayern gained the upper hand and emphatically took control of the match.
Twitter, naturally, had plenty to say as the goals continued to flow in Portugal.
Comparisons were immediately made to Germany's famous 7-1 victory over Brazil at the 2014 World Cup after Thomas Muller scored his second goal of the contest, making it 4-1 just after the half-hour mark.
