Chicharito becomes Mexico's all-time leading scorer

It wasn't all bad for Mexico at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

On Saturday, Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez became Mexico's all-time leading scorer, tallying his 47th goal for El Tri as the national team fell 2-1 to Croatia in a friendly. The product of Chivas surpassed Jared Borgetti's tally of 46 goals by heading a free-kick past Lovre Kalinic in the dying minutes of the second half.

Mexico and Croatia last took the pitch together in the group stage of the 2014 World Cup. On that occasion, Chicharito scored via a header as El Tri claimed a 3-1 victory. But Saturday was a friendly to forget in California, and the result marked Juan Carlos Osorio's second defeat with the national team. Three substitutions were made at the interval, the goalkeeping coach was sent off, and a starting lineup of regulars was outplayed by a reserve team.

Chicharito's goal, which came in his 91st appearance for Mexico, was the lone bright spot for El Tri.
