Borussia Dortmund strengthened its midfield Monday with the arrival of Sebastian Rode from Bayern Munich, the Bundesliga sides announced.

Although a transfer fee wasn't disclosed, reports suggest Bayern accepted a transfer fee worth €12 million-€15 million.

"I've been a BVB fan since a child and am therefore delighted that a transfer to my favourite club worked out," Rode said, as translated by the Bundesliga's official website.

Other than claiming Dortmund was his favourite team growing up, the decision to leave Bayern likely stems from a frustrating 2015-16 campaign where Rode saw less than 400 minutes of action.

Rode joins an already long list of new arrivals at Dortmund after the team completed deals to bring Ousmane Dembele, Mikel Merino, and Marc Bartra to the club ahead of the 2016-17 season.
