Marcel Schmelzer isn't planning on leaving "home."
On Monday, Schmelzer, one of Borussia Dortmund's longest-serving players, signed a new contract with the club that will keep him at the Westfalenstadion until the summer of 2021.
Schmelzer made his debut for Dortmund in 2008 and has since tallied 195 Bundesliga appearances, during which time the club has won two league titles and one DFB-Pokal crown.
"This is a team full of character and this club is totally unique," Schmelzer said. "I'm delighted to be able to be a part of things in the future here. My family and I have felt at home here for years. Dortmund is my sporting home and always will be."
