Mayweather previously announced that the Gotti rematch would take place in February in Las Vegas, but the fight didn't materialize.
Mayweather and Gotti squared off in an exhibition boxing match in June 2023. Referee Kenny Bayless ruled the fight a no-contest in the sixth round after the two boxers ignored warnings to stop talking trash. Gotti went after Mayweather following the contest, and a brawl broke out in the ring.
One of the greatest boxers of his era, Mayweather has competed in several exhibitions since retiring from professional competition in 2017. The 47-year-old stepped into the ring twice last year but has yet to compete since the first Gotti bout.
Gotti, the grandson of infamous mob boss John Gotti, made his pro boxing debut in 2022. The 31-year-old holds a 2-0 record with one knockout.
