Another EA Sports video game series could be making a comeback.

A revival of Fight Night, the boxing series that ran from 2004-11, was greenlit and put into early development by EA Sports, sources told Tom Henderson of Video Games Chronicle (VGC). The first installment of the new game isn't expected for several years, though, as EA Canada is reportedly focusing on developing UFC 5.

In an email viewed by VGC, EA Canada reportedly told staff it was pausing the development of Fight Night - codenamed "Moneyball" - "for the time being" to ensure UFC 5 is delivered at "high quality."

"We're very excited about UFC 5 and ... we want to eliminate the split focus that several members of our leadership team have had over the past while so we can solely focus on delivering migration and UFC 5 at high quality," the email reportedly reads.

EA announced earlier this year that it was getting back into college football with the development of a new game called EA Sports College Football. That game is expected to be released in 2023.
