Paul, Woodley make weight for boxing match
The highly anticipated boxing match between YouTuber Jake Paul and former UFC champion Tyron Woodley will officially go ahead.
Both competitors made weight Saturday ahead of their 190-pound catchweight bout, which is scheduled to headline a Showtime pay-per-view card Sunday night in Cleveland.
Paul came in at 190 pounds, while Woodley tipped the scale at 189.5 pounds.
Amanda Serrano and Yamileth Mercado, who will compete for the WBC, WBO, and IBO featherweight titles in the co-main event, also both successfully made weight.
Paul has attained a 3-0 professional record, most recently knocking out former UFC fighter Ben Askren in the first round of their April fight.
Woodley, who reigned over the UFC's welterweight division from 2016-2019, was part of Askren's corner. Woodley and Paul were involved in a backstage altercation, and the YouTuber later called out the MMA fighter, who will be making his pro boxing debut.
