Canelo Alvarez and Billy Joe Saunders will square off in a super middleweight unification bout on May 2, sources told Salvador Rodriguez of ESPN Desportes.
The official announcement is expected to come down shortly.
Alvarez (53-1-2) currently holds the "regular" WBA super middleweight title while Saunders (29-0) is the WBO super middleweight champ.
The 29-year-old Alvarez last fought on Nov. 2 when he knocked out Sergey Kovalev to win the WBO light heavyweight championship. Saunders, 30, successfully defended his title on Nov. 9 in a TKO victory over Marcelo Esteban Coceres.
