Gennady Golovkin announced at a press conference Saturday that Johnathon Banks will be his new trainer, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The former middleweight champion parted ways with his previous trainer, Abel Sanchez, in late April over a financial disagreement.

A former cruiserweight IBO champion and heavyweight contender, Banks previously served as the trainer for Wladimir Klitschko and Cecilia Braekhus.

Golovkin, who recently signed a six-fight deal with DAZN reportedly worth $100 million, is slated to fight Steve Rolls on June 8 in New York.
