Tyson Fury plans to fight in May or June before pursuing a WBC heavyweight title rematch with Deontay Wilder in the fall, a source told ESPN's Dan Rafael.

The two combatants fought to a split draw Dec. 1, prompting spectators to call for them to immediately run it back.

Fury threw a wrench into such plans last week, though, when he surprisingly signed with promoter Top Rank. The same company is trying to sign Wilder, and its deal would include the rematch.

The WBC asked both camps to update it on the status of their negotiations for an immediate rematch by Wednesday night.

Neither Fury nor Wilder has a loss on their respective professional records. Wilder has held the heavyweight championship since Jan. 17, 2015.
