Mayweather: 'If I do come back, it has to be in the Octagon'
Floyd Mayweather inched one foot out of retirement Saturday and dipped a toe into UFC waters.
"It is possible I do come back, but if I do come back, it has to be in the Octagon," Mayweather said, according to Dan Rafael of ESPN.
Mayweather announced his retirement from boxing in August, after beating Conor McGregor via a 10th-round technical knockout that improved his professional record to 50-0.
Mayweather didn't specify an MMA opponent, though a rematch against McGregor has been widely speculated. He said a MMA fight would occur at 145 pounds.
The prospect of a lucrative payday was enough to lure Mayweather out of retirement for his fight last summer, and he said a similar financial incentive would bring him back again.
"Absolutely. If the money is right. You got to talk to Showtime, CBS. The money is going to be crazy. I can do whatever I want to do. I'm Floyd Mayweather."
