While BIG3 co-founder Ice Cube would welcome the addition of Carmelo Anthony to the three-on-three league, he doesn't think the time is right.
Speaking to TMZ Sports, Cube said the 34-year-old Anthony still belongs in the NBA.
"Of course, we'd accept him," Cube said. "But he still could play in the NBA, he should be in the NBA."
The Houston Rockets announced in November they were parting ways with Anthony after signing him in the offseason. The 34-year-old averaged 13.4 points on 40.5 percent shooting in 10 appearances with the team.
The BIG3 will be implementing several changes for its third season, including expanding from eight to 12 teams and lowering its minimum age of eligibility from 30 to 27.
