The "Stanimal" survives another day.
Reigning French Open champion and No. 5 seed Stan Wawrinka is through to his third Grand Slam semi of 2015 after a dominant straight-sets victory over No. 15 Kevin Anderson on Wednesday, winning 6-4, 6-4, 6-0 in the US Open quarterfinal.

The Swiss needed just 1 hour, 47 minutes to dispose of the big South African, who had topped him in their four previous meetings dating back to March 2014.
Wawrinka finally looks in top form after looking out of sorts in his opening four matches. Luckily for him, he never faced a player ranked higher than 58th in the world, only dropping a single set. Against Anderson, Wawrinka was stellar, hitting 25 winners to just 15 unforced errors on the night.
He'll now look forward to an all-Swiss semifinal against compatriot and former doubles partner Roger Federer, who beat No. 12 Richard Gasquet in the last men's quarterfinal Wednesday.
It was a disappointing ending for Anderson, who reached his first career Grand Slam quarterfinal after netting the biggest win of his tennis career Monday, beating No. 3 Andy Murray in a four-hour marathon in the Round of 16.
Tied at threes in the first, Wawrinka took a 40-15 lead thanks to a pair of errant forehands from the South African, who subsequently double-faulted to give up the first break of the match. Wawrinka held on from there to take the opening set in an efficient 40 minutes.
It was deja vu in the second, as the Swiss needed 41 minutes to clinch the set, as he converted a single break point opportunity while Anderson's unforced errors reached double digits once again.
Entering the quarters with a tournament-leading 94 aces, Anderson's trusty serve failed him in the end, as he double-faulted four times to give Wawrinka a quick double-break lead. The Swiss would break again in the fifth game on his way to a third-set 6-0 bagel.
