Nadal wins 4th career Rogers Cup

Rafael Nadal defeated Greek teenager Stefanos Tsitsipas in straight sets, 6-2, 7-6 to capture his fourth career Rogers Cup on Sunday in Toronto.

After cruising through the first set, Tsitsipas came back in the second to force a tiebreak, which Nadal won 7-4.

The win was historic for the 32-year-old Spaniard, as it was his 80th career singles title, and his first win at a Master's series event on hard court since 2013.

Nadal now moves into a tie with Novak Djokovic for second in the modern era of Canadian Open wins with four, and trails just Czech Ivan Lendl, who has won the event six times in his career.

For Tsitsipas, his Cinderella run came to an end after a fantastic week in which he also made history, becoming the youngest player on the ATP World Tour to knock off four consecutive top-10 opponents in one tournament. En route to the final, the 19-year-old defeated No. 8 Dominic Thiem, No. 10 Novak Djokovic, No. 3 Alexander Zverev, and No. 4 Kevin Anderson.
