Nadal-Djokovic halted for curfew in the middle of an epic

The second men's Wimbledon semifinal has been suspended due to the tournament's 11 p.m. curfew.

As hoped, Rafa Nadal and Novak Djokovic were producing a vintage Nadal-Djokovic match - replete with insane court coverage, defense-to-offense acrobatics, and gobsmacking shot-making - which was well on its way to being an epic before the curfew struck. Djokovic had just won the third-set tiebreaker, 11-9, to take a two sets to one lead.

The start time of the match got pushed way back thanks to the absurd six-hour, 36-minute preceding semifinal between Kevin Anderson and John Isner, which ended in a 26-24 fifth set. Anderson awaits the winner of Nadal-Djokovic in the final.

Play will resume at 1 p.m. local time on Saturday (8 a.m. ET), with Djokovic leading 6-4, 3-6, 7-6. The women's final, between Serena Williams and Angelique Kerber, will follow.
