Ferrer wins 4th Mexican Open title; Bacsinszky wins on women's side

ACAPULCO, Mexico - Fifth-seeded Timea Bacsinszky of Switzerland won the Mexico Open on Saturday night for her second WTA Tour title, beating third-seeded Caroline Garcia of France 6-3, 6-0.

The 25-year-old Bacsinszky also won the 2009 Luxembourg Open.

In the men's final in the hard-court event at The Fairmont Acapulco Princess, top-seeded Kei Nishikori of Japan lost to second-seeded David Ferrer of Spain in straight sets. 

It's Ferrer's third title of the year and his fourth Mexico Open title. The Spaniard improves to 18-1 on the season and takes home another $343,000. 

Ferrer said:

Tonight I played my best match this week. For sure. I played very aggressive, without mistakes. I'm very happy. To win here a fourth time is a dream.I tried to play my forehand to his forehand and with more energy. In important moments, he made more mistakes and I took my chances. I feel very confident with my tennis now. I've won three tournaments this year and we've only began the season.
