Brazil to unveil new manager on Tuesday

Keen to move on from their humiliating 7-1 loss to Germany in the World Cup semifinals, Brazil is wasting no time when it comes announcing a successor to Felipe Luiz Scolari, who resigned from his post as manager of the Seleção last week.

The Brazilian Football Confederation announced via its website that the team's new manager will be presented by CBF president Jose Maria Marin at a news conference on Tuesday.

Earlier in the week, Gilmar Rinaldi, reserve goalkeeper from the Brazil squad that won the 1994 World Cup, was appointed as Brazil's new technical director. The job means he's responsible for all levels of the country's national team, and he immediately made it clear that the CBF will not be hiring a foreign manager for the first in the team's history.

"We want someone who knows us and we don't have a lot of time, we want to choose someone quickly," Rinaldi said. "We have a lot of good and well trained coaches. I don't think (a foreign coach) would adapt to what we want right now."

Brazil will be able to begin the healing process from their World Cup fiasco in September, when they take on Colombia and Ecuador in friendly competition.
