Mathew Ryan is back in Belgium.
On Monday, Valencia and KRC Genk reached an agreement that will see Ryan join the Belgian club on loan through June 30. The Australian goalkeeper, who was between the sticks for Club Brugge after abandoning the A-League, had a medical Sunday and will wear No. 26.
Ryan made only two appearances for Valencia in the first half of the 2016-17 La Liga season, one of which was during a depressing 4-2 defeat at home to Las Palmas. But he remains Australia's first-choice 'keeper as the Socceroos attempt to qualify for the 2018 World Cup.
At Club Brugge, Ryan won the 2014-15 Belgian Cup when the club defeated Anderlecht 2-1 in the final.
