The Tigers aren't going down without a fight.

Relegation-threatened Hull City has made a double swoop for Oumar Niasse and Evandro Goebel from Everton and FC Porto, respectively.

Niasse, 26, joins on loan until the end of the season, but there is no word on his reported purchase option for £10 million at the end of that term. Attacking midfielder Evandro, meanwhile, moves permanently on a two-and-a-half year contract for an undisclosed fee, subject to international clearance.

The arrival of two attack-minded players is timely, with Markus Henriksen, whose loan deal at Hull was only made permanent earlier this month, falling to a shoulder injury in the midweek League Cup tie at Manchester United that will rule him out for two-to-three months.

Senegalese forward Niasse was signed by Everton for approximately £13.5 million in January 2016, but immediately struggled to break into the first team under Roberto Martinez due to fitness issues. Martinez's successor, Ronald Koeman, then promptly made him surplus to requirements on Merseyside last summer, banishing him to the Under-23s where he wasn't even assigned a locker.

Evandro, 30, rose to prominence in his homeland of Brazil with Atletico Paranaense and with his country's fledglings, winning the World Youth Championships in 2005. Following a two-year sojourn with Red Star Belgrade, Evandro linked up with new Hull boss Marco Silva at Estoril in Portugal from 2012-14, before shifting to Porto. He unfortunately struggled to make an impression at the Primeira Liga giant, and is now looking to rebuild his career on Humberside.

Hull fans will be hoping Evandro provides the entertainment value of another Brazilian who filled a similar role at the end of the previous decade: Geovanni, who became a fan favourite following a switch from Manchester City in 2008.

Should international clearance and fitness be proven in time, both could be in line to make their debuts in Saturday's visit from Bournemouth.
