Swansea snaps up Luciano Narsingh from PSV

Luciano Narsingh has moved to Swansea City from PSV Eindhoven for a £4-million fee, putting pen to paper Thursday on a two-and-a-half-year contract.

The 26-year-old winger is capable of playing on either flank, but is unable to play in Saturday's Premier League trip to Arsenal because he's carrying a slight calf injury.

"I talked to (Netherlands teammate) Leroy (Fer) before I came here and he told me it is a good club with great teammates and fantastic supporters," Narsingh, who set an Eredivisie record of 22 assists in 2012, told the club website.

"It helped me a lot in making a decision, so it was easy for me to say yes to Swansea."

The 16-time Dutch international made his name at Heerenveen - a hotbed of talent that has helped develop the likes of Ruud van Nistelrooy, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, and Georgios Samaras - before switching to PSV in 2012. In Eindhoven, Narsingh used his devastating pace superbly until this season, when he battled for minutes with Jurgen Locadia and Gaston Pereiro either side of a front three.

"I've looked at the Premier League for two or three years now, and Swansea always play good football," said Narsingh.

"That's why when Swansea came in for me I knew I wanted to play here. This is the best league, and with Swansea playing good football I knew it was a good club for me."

New Swansea manager Paul Clement will not rest on his laurels with the Narsingh coup, confirming reports that efforts are being made to nab Tom Carroll from Tottenham Hotspur.

"There's interest there. The clubs are in talks," Clement revealed to BBC Sport's Dafydd Pritchard.
