Zenit rejects whopper of an offer from Burger King

Russian side Zenit St. Petersburg has reportedly rejected an offer from Burger King, which would change the club's name to Zenit-Burger King.

The Europa League side's notoriously decent Twitter account ostensibly provided a response Friday to the 500-million rubles [€6.8-million] proposal, grilling the American chain for its overture.

A copy of the burger baron's bizarre offer was posted on Twitter Friday by football blogger Stefano Conforti, and later confirmed by Russian journo Artur Petrosyan.

Naturally, Twitter users hopped online to join the bun fun, suggesting a sartorial switch to Getafe's kit from its shock sixth-place La Liga finish in 2009-10 ...

... and an updated crest for the side that finished third in the Russian Premier League last season.

Zenit's response of "lettuce alone" should be enough to bar the bid, though if Burger King is in a pickle, perhaps they would consider offering Bundesliga outfit Hamburger SV a similar proposal. Don't have a cow, man.
