Van der Hoorn claims he's nearing Swansea switch
Mike van der Hoorn says Swansea City has agreed to a fee with Ajax for him to move to South Wales this summer.
Sky Sports' Ben Reynolds believes the sum to be in the region of £2 million to acquire the 23-year-old who broke into the Eredivisie side's XI last season to start the final 10 matches of the campaign. He forged an impressive partnership with Nick Viergever.
The former Netherlands Under-21 international apparently gushed about an opportunity to move to the Premier League to reporters, adding "Swansea are a great club."
The transfer is subject to the centre-back agreeing to personal terms with the Swans, according to BBC Sport.
The price would mean Ajax takes a loss on what it paid FC Utrecht three years ago - £3.2 million - and would also suggest fellow defender Davinson Sanchez has an integral role to play following his deal from Atletico Nacional in his native Colombia.
Swansea was recently taken over by American investors, but has yet to complete a signing in the summer transfer window.
