Report: West Ham bags Feghouli in free transfer

West Ham United has snapped up Sofiane Feghouli on a three-year deal, according to Jack Sullivan, the son of co-chairman David Sullivan.

Jack, who prides himself on breaking club news, confirmed a report from The Mirror's Darren Lewis and Adrian Kajumba that the Algerian winger's signing was imminent after he reportedly turned down a deal from Benfica.

The allure of working under Slaven Bilic was apparently too much for Feghouli, who is poised to end a six-year stay at Valencia after his contract expired in eastern Spain.

Feghouli, 26, made 21 appearances in La Liga last season, but only 13 starts. His trickery and pace on the right-hand side should add balance to a midfield that already has the fleet-footed Manuel Lanzini on the left, and Dimitri Payet playing creator in front of the defensive-minded pairing of Mark Noble and Cheikhou Kouyate.

Feghouli has made 35 appearances for his country and will be expected to link up with the Irons for their pre-season tour of North America.
