Poland and Greece kick off Euro 2012

WARSAW, June 8, 2012 (AFP) - Poland manager Franciszek Smuda opted not to pull any surprises on Friday in naming his squad for the co-hosts' opening game of Euro 2012 against Greece.

Smuda stuck to his tried and tested 4-5-1 formation, playing Robert Lewandowski as a lone striker.

The Borussia Dortmund star will be backed on the wing by club team-mate and Poland captain Kuba Blaszczykowski, and in central midfield by Bordeaux's Ludovic Obraniak, who made a splash on his debut in 2009 by scoring both goals in a 2-0 friendly win over Greece.

Greece's Portuguese manager Fernando Santos, meanwhile, chose a 4-3-3 formation with Celtic's Giorgos Samaras spearheading the attack.
