VIDEO: Napoli's Higuain goes ballistic after being sent off vs. Udinese

Sunday was a day to forget for Napoli and, especially, forward Gonzalo Higuain.

Along with his side losing the contest 3-1 to Udinese and having its manager sent off just before halftime, Higuain also lost the plot when the referee produced a second yellow card and gave him his marching orders.

Higuain was seething at the mouth at the official's decision to send him off, and subsequently made contact with the referee during his protest. He then turned his attention toward Udinese players, and had to be restrained by teammates.

The tirade continued as he was guided off the pitch by teammates and coaching staff, with a visibly upset Higuain appearing to argue with teammates before shoving a member from the coaching staff.

While the red card will see Higuain miss Napoli's next match against Hellas Verona on April 10 through suspension, he could face a longer ban for his behaviour afterward.

It was an ugly conclusion to a thoroughly disappointing match for Napoli, whose title hopes look to be over as the club sits six points back of Juventus in second place with seven matches remaining.
