Buffon sets Juventus record for longest run without conceding in Serie A
Gianluigi Buffon has likely forgotten what it feels like to pick the ball out of his own net.
The Juventus shot-stopper, arguably the greatest of all time at his craft, established a new club record on Friday, extending his run without conceding a Serie A goal to 926 minutes (and counting) with yet another clean sheet in a 1-0 win over Sassuolo.
The remarkable run, the second-best in league history, saw the Italian surpass fellow icon Dino Zoff, who held the previous club record at 903 minutes.
Buffon now trails only Sebastiano Rossi in the race for the all-time league record, as the former AC Milan 'keeper went 929 minutes without being beaten during the 1992-93 campaign.
In order to surpass his counterpart, Buffon needs to go four minutes without being breached in next week's derby against Torino.
