Szczesny reluctant to discuss future until after Euro 2016

Wojciech Szczesny isn't willing to discuss what the future holds beyond this season.

The Polish 'keeper is currently plying his trade in Italy with Roma following a loan move from Arsenal during the summer to accommodate Petr Cech's arrival.

When pressed about what will happen after his loan spell ends, Szczesny told a Polish website he won't decide until Poland's journey at the European Championships is over.

"My future will be decided after the European Championships," he revealed to przegladsportowy.pl, with translation from the Telegraph.

"I love Arsenal, but I'm happy at Roma. I know that Roma want me, but I don't see why Arsenal would not want me also."

After speaking about the heartache of leaving Arsenal, Szczesny acknowledged that it was a necessary move considering the limited opportunities he would receive behind Cech.

"Coming to Rome was the best choice. It's best being a starter for the runners-up in Italy than sitting on the bench in England," he added. "Even Arsene Wenger thought it was the best thing for me."

The Arsenal boss provided some reassurance that Szczesny, who joined the north London team in 2006 as a youth player before making his senior debut in 2009, still has a future at the Emirates Stadium.

"Szczesny is a top-class goalkeeper and we have three top goalkeepers. If one of the goalkeepers can play somewhere then it's good," Wenger told Arsenal's official website in July.

"I believe he will have a future at Arsenal because I personally rate him highly. I put him in the first team at the age of 20 and he already has huge experience."

Szczesny has maintained two clean sheets in 13 matches in all competitions thus far for the Italian outfit.
