Felipe Melo heads home lone goal, Inter defeats Hellas Verona to remain perfect
Inter Milan made short work of Hellas Verona at the San Siro Stadium, picking up an easy 1-0 win Wednesday in what was otherwise a rather straightforward fixture with little by way of drama or controversy.
Brazilian midfielder Felipe Melo scored the opening goal off a corner kick in the 56th minute, swung in by his compatriot, Alex Telles. Melo rose to meet the cross with his head, and blasted home the header.
Verona, without forward Luca Toni, struggled to create meaningful attacking opportunities, giving Inter a comfortable win that keeps them at the top of the Serie A table.
Inter are riding high in confidence now, having won all five matches in Serie A to start off its 2015-16 league campaign. Meanwhile, Italian champions Juventus dropped a 1-0 lead to draw 1-1 with Frosinone, preserving Inter's top spot.
