Roma expects Wojciech Szczesny to miss 4-6 weeks with finger injury
Tests on Wojciech Szczesny's injured finger revealed that the Roma 'keeper suffered a ligament strain in his finger during Wednesday's Champions League draw with Barcelona.
The team announced he will miss four to six weeks, despite positive news that Szczesny, who is on loan at the Italian club from Arsenal, did not fracture the finger.
The Polish international sustained the ailment during a collision with Barca forward Luis Suarez, forcing him to leave the match five minutes after halftime.
The timetable for his return likely means Szczesny will miss Roma's next two group stage matches against FC BATE Borisov and Bayer Leverkusen.
However, he has a chance to return in time for his team's second match with Bayer Leverkusen, on Nov. 4.
Szczesny has made four appearances since his arrival and could be replaced by veteran netminder Morgan De Sanctis.
