Stevan Jovetic is officially on his way back to Italy after completing a loan move to Inter Milan from Manchester City.

The Montenegro international, who previously represented Fiorentina before moving to the Premier League, put pen to paper on a new contract that will keep him at the San Siro until 2019, the Serie A outfit announced.

The agreement states that Jovetic will join Inter on loan for the next 18 months, Manchester City said, with an option to make the move permanent.

"We are excited by the signing of Jovetic. He's another important addition to our squad," Inter president Erick Thohir said. "A dynamic forward that will add value to our attack. (Roberto) Mancini will get the best out of him."

ESPNFC reports that Manchester City could ultimately make £14.25 million if Inter decides to make the loan deal permanent.

The loan agreement will cost Inter £2 million, with City expected to receive a further £10.25 million if it chooses to keep him. A further £2 million in bonuses is also up for grabs.

Although injuries plagued Jovetic during his tenure at the Etihad Stadium, the 25-year-old never appeared to win over Manuel Pellegrini.

He only managed to make 17 appearances during his final season in England.
