It was a day of one hello and eight goodbyes at the San Siro on Friday.

During AC Milan's official presentation of manager Sinisa Mihajlovic, president Silvio Berlusconi announced the names of eight players whose time at the club is over, including Daniele Bonera, Salvatore Bocchetti, Adil Rami, Sulley Muntari, Michael Essien, Marco van Ginkel, Mattia Destro, and Giampaolo Pazzini.

Some of the departures had already been confirmed. For example, it was announced on Wednesday that Sevilla had reached an agreement with Milan for the transfer of Rami, while the Rossoneri terminated Muntari's contract by mutual agreement at the end of June.

Others were widely expected to leave Milan, such as van Ginkel, who spent the 2014-15 season on loan at the club and whose agent, Karel Jansen, said back in April: "The goal for Marco is to return to Chelsea."

A massive overhaul is taking place at the San Siro following a disastrous season in which Milan finished 10th in the Serie A table.

Berlusconi sold a 48-percent stake in the club to Thai investor Bee Taechaubol at the beginning of June and the pair are in the midst of working together "on a great and ambitious economic project to take Milan back to the highest levels of Italian football that are in line with the club's history, prestige, and results."
