Serie A will, at long last, welcome itself into the 21st century by introducing goal-line technology for the 2015-16 season.

Had the Italian game implemented the system by now, Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain would have one extra goal to his name.

The Argentine scored a stunner in Sunday's match against Fiorentina, only to see the extra official on the touchline, whose sole job is to judge whether balls cross the goal line, horribly botch the call.

It wasn't particularly close, as far as these things go.
