Atalanta forward Mauricio Pinilla missed a golden opportunity in the first half of his side's fixture versus Inter Milan that will surely trigger flashbacks of last year's World Cup.

It was Pinilla who blasted a 119th-minute screamer off the crossbar in Chile's Round of 16 loss to hosts Brazil, a shot that would have almost certainly guaranteed Chile's progression at the World Cup had it been a few inches lower.

However, while few could fault Pinilla for not finding the back of the net on that occasion, he earned his fair share of criticism after his 18th-minute sitter on Sunday.
