Antonio Cassano's time at Parma is over.
A mutual agreement has been reached to terminate the Italian attacker's contract, effective immediately, the club announced Monday.
The 32-year-old joined the club in 2013 from Inter, and his contract was not set to expire until 2016.
But the relationship between the two parties soured this season, as Cassano took legal action against the club on Friday, demanding what he claims to be six months' worth of unpaid wages.
Cassano, who scored 12 goals and added six assists last season, becomes a free agent and has (not surprisingly) been linked with a move to former club Sampdoria.
