That damn knee.
Fiorentina have confirmed that striker Giuseppe Rossi, whose promising career has been ravaged by a never-ending slew of injuries, underwent knee surgery yet again on Friday and is expected to miss 4-5 months.
Rossi, now 27, has already missed upwards of two years due to various knee issues, and this most recent setback comes after it seemed as though he was nearing full fitness and would be a vital part of an exciting Fiorentina team this season.
The American-born Italian, who missed the World Cup this summer after being unable to fully recover from his last knee injury in time, has only featured in 31 league matches over the last three seasons between Fiorentina and his former club, Villarreal.
