Hellas Verona announce signing of Javier Saviola
Javier Saviola's career might not have turned into the player that some had hoped he would at a young age, but the now 32-year-old still possesses an ability to instill fear into opposing defenses.
That being said, the final day of the transfer window saw Saviola join Italian side Hellas Verona on a one-year deal from Olympiakos.
The move marks yet another acquisition by Hellas Verano of a player that was in his prime about 10 years ago, as the club added Rafael Marquez over the summer and Luca Toni before last season.
In 2013-14, Saviola notched 12 goals in 25 appearances for Olympiakos after arriving on a free transfer from Malaga. He also appeared in five Champions League matches, registering two goals and one assist as the Greek club were ousted in the round of 16 by Manchester United.
