Report: Liverpool links with Hart 'completely fictitious'

Liverpool reportedly isn't interested in a move for England international Joe Hart, with a senior club source telling ESPN FC the Reds are content to move forward with their current shot-stopping tandem of Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius.

Hart was loaned to Torino on a one-year term in the summer after Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola lured Claudio Bravo to the Etihad to platoon with Willy Caballero. The 30-year-old is out of contract with his parent club in 2019.

Manchester City's apparent unwillingness to bring Hart back into the fold has prompted talk of both an extension with Torino and a £20-million move to Liverpool.

The club reportedly doesn't see the Shrewsbury-born 'keeper as an upgrade over Karius and Mignolet, however, and the source calls talk of a bid for Hart "completely fictitious."

Karius moved to Anfield in the summer on a £4.7-million transfer from Jurgen Klopp's former side, Mainz, and had a rocky start to his Liverpool tenure. He hasn't played in the league since a 2-2 draw with West Ham on Dec. 11. After the German's shifty performances, Mignolet was handed the No. 1 duties, and the Belgian has looked more assured of late despite some awful displays against Swansea and Hull.

Liverpool's shot-stopping situation mirrors that at City, where early-season first-choice Bravo lost the gig to Caballero before the Chilean returned to the fold and started the club's last two league victories over Hull and Southampton.

All of this leaves Hart's next destination uncertain. The England No. 1 is reportedly uninterested in a Serie A stay despite Torino boss Sinisa Mihajlovic's desire to keep the 70-time-capped international.
