Totti considering multiple career paths despite Roma director offer

Roma icon Francesco Totti could be nearing the end of his playing days, and as such, the 40-year-old Italian forward is contemplating the next step of his career.

James Pallotta, president of the capital outfit, revealed earlier in the week that Totti had been offered a six-year deal to stay on with Roma and work as a director. And while Totti acknowledged the offer, he has yet to make a decision.

"I've been thinking a lot about what I intend to do these past few months," Totti told Canale 5, as quoted by ESPN FC.

"Of course I still love playing. I could become a director or I could still be playing, or maybe I decide to become an agent and discover new champions because I've got quite a bit of experience in football."

Whatever Totti decides to pursue, he knows his playing time will be limited, as it has been under Luciano Spalletti this season.

"He wouldn't play me anyway," Totti joked on the prospect of Spalletti extending his playing contract. "But I would keep Spalletti as our coach - he's the future of Roma and the club can win things with him. He's a great coach. I hope he stays."
